Pune : Industrial visit to Mapro and Shinde Foods was organized by Sinhgad Institutes (SIBACA), Lonavala on 22th March 2019 at Mahabaleshwar-Panchgani-Wai Industrial Area.
Mahabaleshwar-Panchgani is India’s own strawberry county. Over 80 percent of the country’s strawberries are grown here. Mapro was founded in 1959, by Kishore Vora a pharmacist by profession. Shinde Food Products was founded in 2008, by a young entrepreneur Kumar Shinde at the age of 21 and revenues have risen from Rs. 2.4 lakhs in 2008-09 to more than Rs two crore in 2017-18. Portfolio of both the companies’ products provides a high quotient of natural fruit in the form of jams, fruit bars, chews, syrups, crushes, squashes, and dessert toppings.
Students were taken to study their manufacturing process and witness this courageous journey of entrepreneurship. The students were explained the history and procedure of manufacturing different types of products of both the companies. Then the students were guided to watch the actual manufacturing & processing units of both the companies. They witnessed first-hand, state-of-the-art production facilities used to develop, produce, package, store and sell food products, to meet and exceed customers’ expectations. Students also visited the Mapro Gardens to savour some of their yummy products.
Students came back motivated on learning that entrepreneurs with a vision and commitment to customer satisfaction can be successful despite constraints. The visit was accompanied and coordinated by Dr. Sachin Wankhede, Dr. Rajendra Bhadale, Dr. Vaibhav Kale & Dr. Sunita Shah.
